The Pines Barwon Heads Wedding
Tell us a little about yourselves!
We met six years ago and have built a life together centred around travel, having fun and enjoying the simple things. We’re pretty laid-back. Give us a new place to explore, our dog Ana, and our favourite people, and we’re happy. Our friends and family mean the world to us, and we’re so excited to celebrate this next chapter with everyone we love.
Why did you decide to get married where you did?
We wanted the feeling of eloping, but having our close friends and family there to celebrate with us. It was such a bonus that we were able to stay and enjoy the house all weekend with friends and family too. Barwon Heads is such a beautiful town and the property at The Pines Barwon Heads felt secluded and as if we were on holidays.
How many guests did you have?
About 30 at the ceremony and almost 100 at the reception party.
What was your budget?
We were going into it wanting to keep it quite budget, and spent a lot more than we thought we would. We honestly felt as though we spent it all in the right places and don’t regret anything. Ball park was 40k+ (I honestly don’t know haha)
Tell us about your outfits.
Kudz went for a simple, classic black suit from Eddy Elias. He actually styled himself with an Akubra! I thought it was a really nice touch of personality.
My dress was from Kyha, a simple drop waist gown which I loved. I wanted to wear a neck scarf to feel a little bit less traditional and I loved it. My second dress was my absolute favourite though!!
What was the most important aspect for you, in terms of planning your wedding?
We wanted to look after our friends and family and spend as much time with them as we could over the weekend. We wanted it to feel on the more casual side and the reception at Frankie Bar in Geelong to feel more like a party!
Were there any elements that were important for you to incorporate?
Karipa has a Maori background, so it was important that we included elements of his culture throughout the day and night.
Any tips for couples getting married?
There will be stressful times amongst the fun and chaos leading up to the day which is so normal. We would go back and do the day over and over again, it was the best day. Make sure you let go on the day and enjoy every moment.
Are there any vendors that you would like to tell us a little more about?
All of my vendors were so incredible and made the day feel like a breeze. Nick brought the VIBES and his work is unmatched. I think Nick and holly from Cura Motion working together and making us feel comfortable, excited and going with the flow was a highlight!!
